Staff Involvement

Encouraging staff participation in the community

As members of the communities they serve, Clydesdale Bank's own staff are encouraged to take part in charitable work. We also run a Payroll Giving scheme that allows staff to make voluntary donations every month direct from their salary to a variety of causes close to their hearts. To date over 12% of our staff are donating to charities and because of this we have been awarded H M Silver Quality Mark for Payroll Giving.   Staff who choose to donate to the Bank’s Charity Partner will have their donation matched £ for £ by the Bank.

Inside and out of work

We actively promote volunteering opportunities for our staff that allow them to volunteer during bank hours rather than in their own personal time. Clydesdale Bank Staff support a number of initiatives including;

  • Team Challenges through Scottish Business in the Community
  • The Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland Financial Education Partnership
  • Skills and Board Bank with Scottish Arts & Business>
  • Number Partners and Paired Reading through Scottish Business in the Community

Credit where it’s due

We also recognise that many of our staff volunteer in their own time to support their local community. Our Staff Volunteer Grant Programme rewards and recognises the personal contribution of staff by providing grants to charitable organisations which they work with in their own time. Grants of up to £500 are awarded quarterly.
